Apple TV+ is wasting no time in churning out new content that will have their subscribers busy for weeks to come. While Presumed Innocent and Land of Women have dropped their season finales, on the other end of the streaming platform, Taika Waititi’s latest series, Time Bandits, has released the first two episodes, and it truly has Waititi written all over it.
Although only two episodes of the series are available to stream on the platform, it is more than enough to decide whether you will stream it next week or skip it, and for now, we can guarantee that you will want to stick to this series, and it’s not just because of Lisa Kudrow, although we must admit, she’s a big asset. Without wasting more of your time, here’s our review of Time Bandits!
Time Travel Takes an Interesting Turn
Everyone loves a good time travel story, and we have seen plenty of it in the past, and there will be plenty in the future, but at this moment, Time Bandits is under the spotlight, and for all the right reasons.
The premise of this series revolves around a group of time bandits who jump through different time periods, looking for treasure, with the help of a portal, and one fine day, find themselves in the bedroom of a young boy, Kevin.

Now before the time bandits are introduced in the series, Kevin is introduced. He’s a young boy who loves all things history and is very different from the rest of his family and the kids he goes to school with.
Kevin seeks happiness in books, while his family urges him to use his phone. One can’t help but feel for Kevin, and such was his introduction, but soon enough his fate completely changes when he gets mixed up with the aforementioned group of bandits, which is led by Penelope, played by the one and only Lisa Kudrow.
In the first two episodes, the time bandits and Kevin start their journey in 1810, during the final battle between Madame Chung and the British Navy. It is Chung who first recognizes the wits and talents of Kevin, after which Penelope is keen on having him tag along, only to later realize that Kevin only knows about the past, and not about any treasure.

Plenty is going on in the first two episodes of Time Bandits but there is never a single dull moment. For the time being, the time bandits are on the run from the Supreme Being, who is later revealed to be Waititi himself.
It feels like a large puzzle and the pieces will come together as the series continues, but for now, Kevin continues to embark on the journey with the group, especially after a demon turns Kevin’s parents into coal. Don’t worry, they’re not dead, and with some time travel, Kevin can save them, and that becomes his purpose. As we said, not a single dull moment.
Conclusion
The comedy in Time Bandits is top-notch, and this is something you can watch by yourself, with your friends, or even with your family, and it will be a fun time for everyone.
