Nev Schulman is Lucky to Be Alive
On Instagram, Catfish host Nev Schulman shared a trigger warning before his post, which was unlike his other posts on the social media platform. The warning was about medical trauma and severe injury, which was paired with a long caption that detailed exactly what happened to Schulman, and it is truly devastating.
Schulman first spoke about the time he spent with his family on Sunday, when they all went fishing together and even caught a puffer fish! He described this day as “magical” however, Monday was the opposite of that, as Schulman’s life changed in an instant. He was en route to pick his son up from school on his bike, but never made it.
In fact, he also shared a transcription of the phone call from his son’s teacher from the time when no one made it to school, and that was because Schulman met with the worst accident of his life. The accident occurred because of a truck, and Schulman broke his neck, but luckily, he was not paralyzed.
Schulman was in Southampton Emergency Room and the Stony Brook ICU, with fractures in his C5 and C6 vertebrae, and as he mentioned in his Instagram post, he is “projected to make a full recovery.”
In his post, Schulman shared the trigger warning, following the call from his son’s teacher, after which there were pictures of him in the hospital, hooked up to several machines with a broken neck.
Fans definitely aren’t used to seeing Schulman in this state, but he has received plenty of love from fans online, along with well wishes as he makes his way to a total recovery.
