In 1981, Terry Gilliam produced and directed a movie titled, Time Bandits, and fast forward to 2024, Apple TV+, Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris, and Taika Waititi have come together to turn this premise into a 10-episode series.

Unlike most series on Apple TV+ which follow the schedule of one episode a week, Time Bandits released two episodes every week and ran for a total of 5 weeks. Has Time Bandits Season 2 Been Confirmed?
In an interview, Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement spoke more about this season and the possibility of a second. Waititi said they were “mapping out a Season 2.” Of course, the ultimate decision was in the hands of the streaming platform as Waititi also mentioned that it depends on whether or not it is, “financially worth it for Apple to make another one.”
Despite an engaging first season, it has been revealed that despite Waititi’s plans, Time Bandits has been cancelled, and will not be renewed for another season. Apple TV+ continues to churn out original series which also increases the competition, and not every series gets another chance to continue their story, and Tine Bandits has now joined that list.
This interview had taken place about a month ago, and Waititi said they would know more “a couple of months into it.” So, fans might have to wait just a little longer before receiving official news from Apple TV, but things are looking good!
Which Cast Members Could Have Returned for Time Bandits Season 2?
If Time Bandits Season 2 was green-lit by Apple TV+, one could have expected Kal-El Tuck (Andy and the Band, Unseeing Evil) to return as Kevin, the protagonist of the series, and one of the smartest kids on television.
Other cast members who would have likely reprised their roles in the second season are Lisa Kudrow (Friends, The Comeback), Tadhg Murphy (Lost in the Living, Boy Eats Girl), Roger Jean Nsengiyumva (Africa United, You Don’t Know Me), Rune Temte (Arctic Void, The Riot), and Kiera Thompson (The Salisbury Poisonings, Martyrs Lane) amongst others.
