We have to give plenty of credit to Netflix and Emily in Paris because they know exactly how to make a dramatic entrance, because that’s how Season 4 Part 1 began, and we’re thrilled. Well, we aren’t really thrilled about Emily’s love life which is completely in shambles, with her crumbling relationship with Gabriel, and Alfie having moved on to someone else.
There are plenty of subplots introduced in this series, and the two characters, apart from Emily and her love interests that get some spotlight are Sylvie and Mindy. If you’re in love with any of these characters, then Emily in Paris Season 4 is the one for you! Right now, our focus is on Episode 7, because tensions are rising, and matters are getting complicated!
Emily and Mindy’s Friendship to the Rescue!
We love some girl time, especially when Mindy and Emily are together. Admittedly, the girl time has reduced since the first season, because of all the romantic subplots, but the writers occasionally put the girls together, where they give each other some great advice and catch up on their lives, and it’s almost the most relatable part about Emily in Paris!

Now, after the much-needed girl talk, all Emily has to do is face Gabriel, after she left him on the slopes, and broke up with him…kind of. Well, as much as Emily wants to apologize to Gabriel, he’s on his way to have lunch with Camille, and Emily is left by herself and her ugly Christmas sweater.
Meanwhile, at work, Emily is met with yet another surprise when she learns that Sylvie has hired someone new from the US, and it is Laurent’s daughter, Genevieve. Looks like Emily has made a new friend as Chicago and New York when put together are like a house on fire, and while Emily helps Genevieve out, Gabriel and Camillie are busy having their lunch together, and later, decide to go see a priest.

By the looks of it, Gabriel is aware that Camille isn’t carrying his child anymore, and that it was a false pregnancy, which Camille later also tells Emily. As for the priest, it was yet another shot at Camille to get Gabriel in her life, in a more romantic capacity, however, he is quick to turn that idea down. Meanwhile, things continue to remain extremely tense between Emily and Gabriel, and this time, it is Gabriel’s turn to blow up.
Genevieve on the other hand appears to be an interesting addition to the cast this season, but certain things will have fans on the fence, and patience is key. At the end of the end, Emily is all alone, but not as alone as she would have thought, because she at least has Mindy, from the first season, until now, and that’s been the highlight of this episode.

Conclusion
Emily in Paris continues to elevate itself with plenty of dramatics scattered around the series, and we have to admit, we missed Alfie in this episode. Maybe Emily really did make the wrong choice, but we will learn more about that in the next episode!
