Watson: Trailer, Release Date, Cast And More

Morris Chestnut stars as John Watson in Craig Sweeny’s highly anticipated medical drama, Watson, poised to captivate audiences and take television by storm in 2025. Based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the series draws inspiration from the iconic characters he created.

Sweeny, Chestnut, Sallie Patrick, Larry Teng, Shäron Moalem, Aaron Kaplan, and Brian Morewitz serve as executive producers of Watson for the CBS Network.

What is the Plot of Watson?

The series takes place a year after Sherlock Holmes’ death when Dr. John Watson decides to open up his own clinic in Pittsburgh. His clinic and his team of doctors are almost as unique as the patients who come into this clinic, with some of the rarest and strangest conditions.

Watson stops at nothing when it comes to treating his patients and dives deep into the conditions they come in with, using his expertise as a former detective. However, it doesn’t take long for Watson’s past to chase him down, and you can catch a sneak peek of the same in the official trailer!

The Cast of Watson

A former detective and now a physician, John Watson is a unique and complex character and will be played by Morris Chestnut. Chestnut has previously appeared in titles like The Best Man Holiday, The Best Man, Boyz n the Hood, Reasonable Doubt, Rosewood, and When the Bough Breaks.

When and Where Can You Watch Watson?

The series will exclusively premiere on CBS on January 26, 2025, which gives tough competition to several other titles that are slated to hit the small screens at the start of the year.

Serie’s pilot episode first premiered at the MIPCOM Cannes in October, and the series has been in development since 2022!
